This week, on Thursday December 3, Sitewlls Coffeehouse is having a fund raiser for the family of Himid Kerdougheli.
Himid is a local cab driver and well known, long-time, regular at Sitwells. Shocking and Horrifyingly, Himid was shot in the left side of his neck, on the evening of Saturday 11/29/2009.
He was badly, though not fatally, wounded. The shooting occured while he was inside his cab, around the communities of North Fairmont and Westwood, specifically on the 1900 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard at around 5:45 p.m.
Channel 9/WCPO reports that Himid was possibly en route to picking someone up, but that his cab was empty at the time of the shooting.
Thankfully he was able to drive himself to Good Samaritan Hospital’s emergency wound. He was transferred to University Hospital afterwards

Ron’s Cab Service is also accepting donations for Himid, around this time of year drivers are increasingly robbed, and unfortunately many do not carry health insurance.

If you can spare even just a couple of dollars to help Himid and his family, I encourage you to do so. This is a season of mercy, and the man is a gentleman of the Old World, and a hard worker.
