Boswell Alley was owned by Mike and Beck for about 20 years and established a great reputation. I owned the bartending school above the restaurant for 16 years and dined there 4 or 5 times a week.
They sold the restaurant in 2006 to an individual who operated it about three years and then he sold it to the last couple who ran afoul of the liquor commission and Ohio taxing authorities.
The good news is that the original owners along with another couple bought the business from the bank at the sheriffs auction and have completely refurbished the interior bar, dining, kitchen and patio areas. I have dined there twice in the last month (Sept 2012) and can say that “Boswells is back, better than ever!”
Boswells IS NOW OPEN as of 9-4-12 (yeah!)under the origianl owners Mike and Jan Beck with Walt and Debbie Schultz. Same great menu as well as some great new vegetarian items. Completely remodeled looks great and the staff is terrific. They have a fully stocked bar open till 2am and now offering a Sunday Brunch menu from 11 -2pm. open till 8pm.

Hi Roger, thanks for that update. I drove down Hamilton Ave. and noticed something new going on there, I may stop by soon and check it out.
